A San Diego Man Finds a Way to Get Paid for Social Networking Addiction

San Diego, CA — San Diego resident Frank Guzzo, a self-proclaimed social media addict, recently sought help for his online networking obsession. “My friends recognized all the symptoms,” confesses Guzzo. “An uncontrollable daily urge to connect with hundreds of new friends on Facebook, being hopelessly in love with introducing and recommending colleagues on LinkedIn… When they caught me tweeting during meals, they knew the time had come for an intervention.” Now Guzzo has indeed found a cure for this previously untreatable condition: a cure that pays!

What was once a hopeless addiction has now become a profitable business venture for Guzzo, who recently joined a new profession as a member of a global group of social media virtual assistants, known as a SmartyVA.  SmartyVA simply means: Really Smart and Savvy Social Media Virtual Assistant.  After an intensive six-week “intervention” and training certification program, Guzzo is now able to handle any business’s social media and online marketing needs from his home office, or anywhere he happens to be.  “I help businesses connect to their customers and prospects on social media websites via micro-blogging, video posting, social media conversation monitoring, traditional blogging and comment moderation, and article marketing to name a few—services that are vital to the success of businesses in today’s Social Media climate,” comments Guzzo.

An estimated more than 55.6 million adults in the United States—one third of the population—now visit and interact with social media websites daily.  “And according to a December 2009 report by TechCrunch.com, social media is even more popular outside of the United States,” says Starr Hall, Founder & CEO of SmartyVA.com. “A growing number of businesses worldwide are looking to reach out to these social media users to help build their brands and attract more customers. This creates a strong demand for smart and savvy social media professionals like Guzzo.”

“Savvy businesses are realizing that they need to meet their customers where they are, and social media websites and applications are an excellent platform for them to join in the conversation with their current and potential customers,” said SmartyVA Guzzo. “It’s very rewarding to help my national and international clients build their brand online; with my help, they are able to really connect and bond with their brand community. The fact that I get to work from home and live anywhere I want is just one more great benefit to my new addiction-turned-profession.”
